As this is my "Year of the UFO" I pulled this project out last week and started making more houses. I made 8 of the 12 house blocks and lost interest which is why this ended up on the UFO list. Anyway, I finished block # 9 last week .....
..... so this is what my village looks these days.
Here are a few closeups of some of the embroidery.
I started block #10 this week.
I'm thinking this one may actually get checked off the list this year, but for now it is still a WIP (Work in Progress.)
I am linking up with A Quilting Reader's Garden for their WIP's Be Gone Week 7.

Oh, I have always admired that quilt with the houses around the commons! Love your version with its bright and cheery houses. It's really neat how you've found a background to match each of them. Thanks for linking to WIPs Be Gone! You have a lot of progress there.
That is really cute. Can't wait to see it when it's done.
I have always admired that quilt. I love houses (stars, leaves and trees), so this quilt is right up my alley. I am surprised that I never bought it. Of course, you have put your twist on it and it is going to be so much fun. Hope you are liking it this time and don't stick it back in the closet. It's worth getting finished.
I have always loved that quilt but I must say I really really LOVE your version. So fresh and colorful. Hope you finish it soon.
I am going to love your Quilted Village in the bright colors. I have made this quilt too, but mine is pretty ho-hum compared to you. I did mine by joining a BOM from a quilt shop in Tenn. My sister quilted it and did an awesome job and it really made the quilt. I can't wait to see yours finished, it will be awesome!!
P.S. I am a new follower too...
This is looking great and look at all the detail! You really must finish it, it's brilliant!
I love your village, and especially the embroidered parts. This will be such a special quilt.
Your version is much more to my liking than the original. You always improve on the patterns that I've seen you do. That is very cute and perfect with the bright colors. You must finish it this year!!
Very cute, love this pattern & your version.
I love the colors in yours much more than the sample one you posted.
