The strings basket was an overflowing mess.
I just started pulling out strings and scraps, ironing them, and stacking them into piles. A lot of piles.
I got tired of that and got back to sewing blocks. Added to the blocks I made last week, I have 20 blocks to mail to Kat and Cat for the block drive.
I didn't even come close to using up all the pieces stacked up in these piles, but I feel like I made some pretty good progress. Especially when I look at the strings basket now. Dare I hope?

I can see a big difference in your string basket! Your blocks are so bright and fun, too :)
That's amazing. I didn't think a string basket would ever go down, but you have proved me wrong.
So pretty!! And what a difference in your scrap basket! I'm just getting ready to press some scraps and this gives me the incentive I need.
Hooray for a nice set of blocks for Covered in Love!!! Using up scraps is SEW much fun... even if you find it difficult the tell that you used any at all. :o))
Wow you did make quite a dent in the basket, and all for a good cause!
String sewing is perfect when there's a great tv show on, or you're sewing with friends and chatting. It's been a long time since I've hit my own bin, but seeing yours makes me want to jump back it. I need to organize this as a go to project to have ready. There are more snowy days ahead! Thank you for the inspiration once again.
Your string basket does look less crowded, but I am wondering, did any of those fall into another basket (trash). Lol. I am working on mine this week and I see absolutely no usage out of my scraps. I may have to make twice as many just to see the top of my string bin. :)
Your blocks really look nice.
